In the year 2554 BE, the Temple of the Dawn (Wat Arun) released the Gao Maha Mongkol edition. This exclusive edition features various classic, high standard Buddhist amulets of national repute, such as the famous Pra Somdej Kaiser amulet in three different sizes, Pra Somdej Koon Bun Baramee double sets, classic Pra Yord Tong loi ongk stattuettes, and these luxurious gammagarn collector box sets of Pra Nang Paya Pong Gru Gao amulets in three different colors (red, white, and black).
The Pra Nang Paya belongs to the top five benjapakee amulets of Thailand (the other four being Pra Somdej Wat Rakang, Pra Nang Paya Pitsanuloke, Pra Sum Gor Gampaeng Paetch, Pra Pong Supan Supanburi, and the Pra Rod Gru Lampun). This classic Buddhist amulet originates from the Ayuttaya Period, which obviously is influenced by the characteristic style of the Sukhothai Period. As the name pra pong gru gao already suggests, it is a sacred powder amulet from an ancient hiding place.
Since ancient times the Pra Nang Paya is particularly famous for its magical aspects of serm duang (improving fate and karma), metta mahaniyom (mercy), klaew klaad (evasion of danger), kong grapan (protection), and maha lap (wealth increase). As a genuine Buddhist amulet, however, the Pra Nang Paya also is a powerfool tool for Buddhānussati (recollection of the Buddha) as the front face of the amulet features Lord Buddha seated in lotus posture whilst touching the earth with his right hand. This traditional Buddhist posture represents the Buddha summoning Pra Mae Thorani, the Earth Goddess, to assist him to conquer the armies of Māra, in order to attain enlightenment.
The amulets are made from sacred powder from the ancient hiding chamber of the Pra Nang Paya Gru Gao. The high quality muan sarn mixture from which these Pra Nang Paya amulets are made is clearly visible on the exterior surface of the powder amulets, leaving visible traces of sacred ingredients on both sides of the amulets. Also, the amulets have a sacred 'Na' engraved on the rear face.
The Pra Yord Tong Gao Mongkol edition of amulets from Wat Arun was released to celebrate the 84th anniversary of His Majesty the King. Other purposes for which this edition was released were to gather funds to sponsor the study of the Pāli Canon for monks, to support the education of poor and disadvantaged children and adolescents, and to fund various charitable projects for the betterment of society and the local standards of living.
The official production and distribution of the amulets from this most auspicious edition was hosted by the committee of sponsors, consisting of the following members: Pra Taep Maeti (committee chairman), Pra Taep Mongkol Rangsri, Pra Pipita Patanagarn, and the lay master Ajarn Prayut Jantr Ocha.
The Pra Nang Paya amulets were blessed in a Putta Pisek ceremony performed by the following monks: Luang Por Cherd, Lyang Por Samrit, Luang Por Chaliew, Luang Por Wiwat, Luang Por Giaw Chart, Luang Por Briam, Luang Por Somchai, Kroo Ba Bun Tiam, Luang Por Tawee, Pra Ajarn Surasak, Luang Por Witaya, Luang Phu Nam, and Luang Por Pongs.

The gammagarn set comes with the original box from the temple. It is, however, also possible to encase all three amulets, if desired. If one wishes to encase only one out of three of the amulets, then one should mention this in the order notes when placing the order. Please note that individual encasement involves extra costs, which will be forwarded to you via a PayPal invoice afterwards.
