Released in 2506 BE (1962), the coin was celebrating Luang Por Plangs 55th Anniversary edition. Luang Por Plang Was a Famous Master Gaeji Ajarn of Nakorn Patom Province, and Abbot of Wat Hnong Gratum temple. This coin is relatively rare to find these days, especially in this condition.
Made from 'Nuea Tong Daeng' (Sacred Copper Alloy), the front face bears the image of Luang Por Plang, whose image is famous for Kong Grapan Chadtri Invincibility Power. The rear face has the Khom Script 'Ma A U' (meaning Dhamma, Buddha, Sangha), and the Kata 'Iswaasu' (Kata pra Radtana Dtrai/Triple Gem Mantra). The Kata Pra Radtana Dtrai is an abbreviation of the Kata Bot Pra Puttakun 56 (56 Buddha Qualities - the 'I' syllable), Bot Pra Tammakun 38 (the 'Swaa' syllable) and the Bot Pra Sangkakun 14 (syllable 'Su').
A most excellent and affordable protective Monk Image Coin amulet of very respectable age, for lovers of the Ancient Variety of Pure Buddhist Amulet, with a smaller budget. This coin may one day become much more valued than its current official pricing, as it becomes ever rarer to find, and its popularity increases with coin amulet collectors.
