The Kote Lek Lai Tham variant of lek lai is a raw adamantine substance which is held in high esteem for its purity. This particular variant of lek lai is quite rare. Also, due to its extraordinary purity, Kote Lek Lai Tham is considered to be more powerful compared to the the other more commonly seen variants of lek lai.
Kote Lek Lai Tham is a sacred adamantine substance which can be found in holy caves (tham means 'cave'). In this case, it was magically extracted from a holy cave in Kanjanaburi Province. Only true adept masters who possess the wicha know how to extract the lek lai according the traditional method. That is to say, they cut the lek lai by using as little as only a knife and a candle. This requires great strength of mind and proficiency in kasina meditation. In this way, the masters perform magic invocations to summon the resident deva of the sacred kayasiddhi elemental. The very fact that it is considered a kayasiddhi elemental which has a deva's mind inhabiting the sacred adamantine substance, explains the reason why lek lai is such an important aspect of Thai Buddha magic.
The Kote Lek Lai Tham was later brought to the South for a blessing ceremony performed by the famous Khao Or masters at Dtamnak Dtak Sila Khao Or. Along with the Kote Lek Lai Tham, the great masters of the Khao Or lineage (Luang Por Prohm of Wat Ban Suan, Por Tan Khai of Wat Lam Nao, and Pra Ajarn Iad of Wat Koke Yaem) also empowered various other kinds of ritual instruments such as mitmor (ritual knives) and mai kroo (magic wands).
This piece of lek lai can be encased and worn as an amulet for attracting luck and fortune, as well as protection. However, it is also possible to use the lek lai as a sacred object of worship, along with other holy images on one's altar. Moreover, due to the lek lai being consecrated according the authentic wicha of the Khao Or lineage, it is imbued with powerful blessings of protection and good luck.
Furthermore, Kote Lek Lai Tham is also a very powerful tool for meditation and ritual use. The lek lai can be used to raise one's level of awareness, to improve one's focus, and to heighten one's concentration level. This will automatically lead to a gradual development of mindfulness, which, in turn, creates the necessary conditions to be able to communicate with celestial beings, using various psychic powers.
When it is used for bucha purposes, the Kote Lek Lai Tham can be prayed to so that one can ask for blessings of protection and wealth increase. In this way, the resident deva dwelling within the Kote Lek Lai Tham will bestow upon the worshipper numerous blessings to increase the person's good luck and fortune.
