Pra Ruesi Dern Dong (Ruesi hermit wandering in the Forest), by Luang Por Raks Analayo, of Wat Sutawat Vipassana in Ayuttaya (also lovingly called 'Puttamonton Ayuttaya' referring to it as the true 'World Buddhist center' instead of the official Puttamonton, which is not all it seems - Pure 'Anuraks Puttasin' (preservation of traditional Buddhist Arts), this amulet is a depiction of the Ruesi Narot (Naradha), most powerful of all the Ruesi in the Ramayana, and the only person (deva) able to subdue Hanuman. Those who revere the Ruesi, already know that the Devotee should have at least one Ruesi mask/face of Por gae, and one Ruesi walking in the forest, to effectively protect and be blessed throughout the Year. In addition, a true devotee of Por Gae Ruesi, must undergo 'Khorb Kroo' ceremony to renew the Yearly blessings and protections.
Praying to the Ruesi brings a large compendium of blessings, ranging from luck and fortune, charm and attraction, to protection from physical and supernatural dangers.
Apart from the practice of being a Devotee to the Rursi to obtain blessings, the Ruesi are also the Kroo Deities for those who indeed themself practice Ruesi-Ism, Yoga, Meditation, herbalism, Minerology, and magical Practices, such as Incantation or amulet making. Meditation practitioners recieve extra blessings from the Ruesi, for meditation is the primary practice of the Ruesi himself, and those who revere and practice the Science/Arts of Ruesi-ism, will attain great advancements in their meditations by studying and practicing the way of the Ruesi as a way of life.
The Ruesi Path is now becoming a very popular alternative to the General Buddhist path, because even a layperson or a married person is able to practice the Ruesi way, and advance within the framework of their own lifestyle. No ordination as Monk is necessary, but a true diligent attitude and effort to practice the Mindfulness path and the path of meditative skill and wisdom is crucial and must be applied, if one does not wish to become a charlatan in one's own practice.
