Classic Luang Por Phang Monk Coin 'Run Pised' (special edition) Empowered and released in 2517 BE (1974). Luang Por Phang is a Gaeji Master of great Fame in the Khon Gaen district of the Isan Country (North-East Thailand), and was Abbot of Wat Udom Kong Ka Kiree Khet in Khong Gaen. He was born on the 5th August 2455 BE, into a Farming Family. He ordained at the age of 20 and studied the Dhamma for some years, after which he disrobed, and spent many years working under the 5 precepts keeping 'Sammaa Aacheep' (Samma Ajiva - correct profession which does not break any of the 5 precepts). He helped his parents on their farm, and sometimes worked as a Merchant naval recruit on the rice boats. After his disrobing, he was Married as normal Thai Tradition demands, and spent many years living the full life of a 'Korawaas' (layperson) with family to feed. He thus was able to experience and see the life of the lay person and also see how the 'Normal Life' was, and after many years, came to the conclusion that it was just a rat race of everything living just trying to grab or snatch advantage from each other, and that there is no end in this process, whilst following these ways of the world.

He thus Ordained as a Bhikkhu, and here is part of where his merit appears;

When he ordained, he gave away his farm, cattle, house, money and posessions to the poor, and needy, and entered the Sangha as a penniless pauper. This Merit of generosity and Disattachment from Worldly Possessions, shows the signs of a True Master whose strength of renunciation and Self mastery was already that of an Adept even before he entered the Monkdom.

He did s many Compassionate and Generous acts during his time that he is one of the most loved and famous Masters of the Khon Gaen area - buidling the temple, kuti huts, hospital or schools, water dams..

A famous story is that someone asked Luang Por Phang if he believed in Ghosts and Spirits, and LP Phang answered; "Oh i believe in them since many years now"

"Oh, so you have seen a Ghost?" replied the person.

"Oh many times i meet them quite often?" answered Luang Por Phang.

"Oh, so are you afraid?" asked the person.

"Oh yes a little, because it is difficult to teach or converse with them" answered Luang Por Phang.

"So do they have a particular appearance or way of communicating?"  the person asked.

Luang Por Phang then answered; "This what sits before me talking and this what sits before you answering.. this is the ghost i am talking about".

He meant that our impermanent bodies eventually end up as corpses, and that in fact the process of entropy and dying is already happening slowly, so in fact, we are no different to the corpses or ghosts of the cemeteries. This shows that Luang Por was already beyond attachment to his body or impermanent phenomena, making him what Thai people call 'Arya Sangha'. A Realised Monk of Great Attainment over normal Human Capability.

Luang Por Phang passed away on the 24th March 2525 BE
