Pra Yord Tong Second edition Loi Ongk Buddha Image statuette amulets from the Temple of the Dawn. The first editon was a Classic and became instantly recognized by the 'Wongkarn Pra Niyom' (Preferred Amulets Collector circles). Its success has given rise to a second edition to provide a continuation of the now completley depleted stocks of the first edition pra Yord Tong amulets.
The edition was spearheaded by this, the second ever issue of the Wat Arun Pra Yord Tong Loi Ongk Buddha Image statuettes, with a superb boxed 2-set of Pra Somdej amulets, as the official flying colors of the edition. In addition to these, there were also a series of 3 amulet box sets of Pra Nang Paya Sacred Powder Benjapakee amulets released, using powders from the Ancient Kru hiding chamber of the Pra Nang Paya Gru Gao.
The edition was of course officially postered with the Pra Yord Tong, Pra Somdej Koo Bun Baramee Dtor Ngern Dtor Tong, and Pra Nang Paya Benjapakee 3 Set, as the officially publicized release, but, as those in the know and niche collectors already know, this edition conceals an extremely famous and collectible Sacred Amulet within its fold, that is not visible on the official poster (below).
But the amulet of which we are so mysteriously speaking, is indeed, perhaps the amulet which the Cult Collector is truly seeking, and for which the Temple of the Dawn has been famous for since the Days when Somdej Pra Puttajarn Dto Prohmrangsri of Wat Rakang Kositaram still sat within the Palace.
The amulet of which we speak, is, of course, the Pra Somdej 'Gai Ser' - the 'Kaiser Somdej', which is known for its 'Hoo Bai Sri' long eared and round headed image, and for the crackly texture of its sacred powder surface. The Pra Somdej Kaiser was issued at Wat Arun along with this edition and was made in three different Pim; 'Pim Jumbo, Pim Yai, and Pim Lek', meaning 'Giant size, large size, and small size'. These three differenly sized models of the Eternally Classic Pra Somdej Kaiser amulet were less announced as usual, for their eventual depletion is certain with or without advertizement of their existence, due to the large number of cult niche collectors of this type of amulet.
The Pra Yod Tong is since Times of Ayuttaya up to the current Radtanakosin Era, an amulet that Kings have made and distributed to the soldiers of their armies, to protect them in the battle, and to bring them auspicious blessings of all kinds. The amulet was in fact actually used to insert into the flagpole heads of battle Flags too.
Nine kinds of Blessings are included within the Yord Tong flagpole Buddha; Klaew Klaad, Kong Grapan Chadtri,Metta Mahaniyom, Serm Yot, Jaroen Gaaw Hnaa (Prosper and Advance, both professionally, and of corse, in battle), Sarapat Neuk (Wish Fulfiller), Maha Lap (Wealthy Fortunes), Choke Lap (Good Luck and Prosperous Blessings). The PraYord Tong is valued by Military personell and warriors of all kinds as a protective amulet against all kinds of martial weapons be they projectile or hand wielded weapons of old such as knives and swords, lances or other sharply designed weapons.
The amulet comes with the original felt lined box from the Temple of the Dawn
The Pra Yord Tong defends against all enemies, and is legendary for its appearance in the Dtamra as Somdej Pra Jao Thaksin Maharach went out to battle against the bordering Marauders on the fringes of the Siamese Kingdom, he would seek out Sacred and Powerful magical amulets and talismans with Occult Wicha, and Sacred Power, to boost Faith and increase the chances of winning with the aid of Magical Sorcery.
The Kong Grapan Klaew Klaad amulets and Talismans made in Olden Days, and indeed as laid out in the Ancient Formulas of the Magical Sorcery Books, were smelted out of metal alloys made from melting down varous kinds of weaponry, such as swords, lances, daggers, guns or other metallic weaponry be it axes, shields for protective power, or whatever weapons were available in that particular Era. These metals were then smelted into the form of the Pra Yord Tong amulet
Since these times, it has been a Royal Tradition to make and distribute the Pra Yord Tong amulet to the Defenders of the Nation, the soldiers, airforce, police and navy, who wil take one of them and insert it in their regimental flagpole to give them Faith, Strength, Bravery and Victory, and bestow the Nine Auspicous Blessings of the Pra Yord Tong, and indeed, the Nine Kings of the Radtanakosin Dynasty.

In addition the Kata Idtipiso radtana Mala, Kata Maha Jakkapat, and 99 Incantatios of the Kata Bucha Pra Jao Thaksin Maharach. The incantations were passed from the topknot of the Buddha image within the Uposadha, throgh the hands of the monks and over the amulets with the use of the Traditional Sinjana cords. During the ceremony a sudden storm rocked the Uposadha as the Buddha Abhiseka began, and dwindled again as the ceremony ceased.
